Which web server is my website installed on?

 

Occasionally problems can occur with individual web servers which may mean your website will be temporarily available. If you were to check our System Status link (this can be found under the Useful Links menu on the RH-side of the Village Internet website) you may see a message similar to this:

 

 

 

The screen above shows that WEB49 has had a problem and is recovering. The question is, how do you know which server your website is on? The answer is on your Control Panel, and the following picture shows you where to find the information:

 

 

 

 

As  you can see, the  example Control Panel displayed above shows the website is on WEB232.

 

Make a Note

In the unlikely event of a problem, make sure you already have your web server information to hand, as a server outage may mean your Control Panel could be inaccessible. It's the same as keeping the contact details of your electricity supplier on your PC, and then wondering how to get to them when you've just  lost your electricity supply!
