Don't throw away!

If you keep empty ink cartridges to stop them going to land-fill, but don't know what to do next, help is at hand.

Village Internet can take all your old inkjet and toner cartridges, and recycle them so as to minimise the environmental impact.

Recycling the materials is important. However, this is a last resort and we we'll try and reuse the complete cartridge first, to avoid unnecessary remanufacturing.

Broadband Download Allowance

The default download limit with most 'economy' broadband packages is generally set at 1Gb or gigabyte. If exceed this limit you will almost certainly get an additional monthly charge - unless of course you've paid extra in advance for a larger download limit. But what does a 1Gb allowance mean in terms of your activity? As a very broad guideline you can think of it as roughly:

  • 600 emails viewed, or
  • 100 hours browsing, or
  • 40 songs downloaded

However, if you're going to download lots of software programs, music or films, it may pay to keep an eye on your monthly allowance.
