Don't throw away!

If you keep empty ink cartridges to stop them going to land-fill, but don't know what to do next, help is at hand.

Village Internet can take all your old inkjet and toner cartridges, and recycle them so as to minimise the environmental impact.

Recycling the materials is important. However, this is a last resort and we we'll try and reuse the complete cartridge first, to avoid unnecessary remanufacturing.

When will an HP10 cartridge stop working?

To answer this question, the HP packaging for this cartridge states:

"Due to ink expiration, the enclosed cartridge stops working 24 months after the "Warranty ends" date, or 30 months after the cartridge is installed, whichever comes first."

And what if the cartridge still has ink in it? Sounds like you'll have to fork out for a new one anyway. Simply thank HP for protecting the rest of your printer mechanism from the 'adverse impact' that could potentially be caused by having impaired ink in the cartridge. Frown
